Workshop: from sample to insight

QIAGENs tag line is “Sample to Insight”, reflecting the historical roots (nucleic acid extraction kits) as well as the more recent history of growth into bringing to the market solutions that provide insight into the “meaning” of the sequence of these nucleic acids in a given sample. Examples are presence of actionable DNA markers in FFPE samples from the clinic, unravelling the immune responses upon SARS-CoV-2 infection through measurements of gene expression or tracing COVID-19 outbreaks.

Leif Schauser holds a Ph.D. in plant molecular genetics from Aarhus University, Denmark. He did his postdoctoral training in Norwich, UK, before working as a professor in bioinformatics at Aarhus University. In 2013 Leif joined CLC bio, just before its acquisition by QIAGEN. Since, he has held various bioinformatics Research & Development positions before joining product management in 2018.
